Hey guys, i jus got a new yz250f. All the suspension settings are stock. The problem is i am a 220lbs rider, so i think its a lil too soft for me. How do i go about making the forks and the rear spring stiffer. I think the rear has something to do with preload adjustment??...I am new to this so please bare with me.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Your best bet is to accept the fact that you are physically too heavy for the springs in this bike. Replace the springs with the correct rate for your weight and you won't look back. In order to obtain correct sag figures with the stock springs you would have to preload them excessively which would result in poor traction.

Ok, i will look into that and see what i come up with. One more question though, which way stiffins the preload, andwhich way softens it?...Like if i tighten the spring bolts downwards (towards ground) this will make stiffer or more plush??
