i was wondering if there was a way to make my suspention stiffer without raising it???? on the one sildo of the shock there looks to be a air filling valve like on a tire to fill it up with air. what should that be filled with???

Yep.. Nitrogen.

You can't just fill it up to make your bike stiffer though. That's a function of the spring.

You want it stiff, get a stiff spring.

Is the rear shock blown, excess oil on the shaft. Is it real springy, could have blown some time ago and all the oil is gone. Have you attempted setting the race sag? For what bike and how much do you weigh?
