Just installed 1984 RM125 43mm forks on my '80 RM400T with stiffer springs to compensate for the additional weight of the 400. There is an obvious problem with the damping as it seems to blow through the stroke a bit too easily. Any tips on remedying this with mod to the rod holes or other mods? Thanks

You could try playing around with the fork oil. I got good results in stiffening up my forks on my '72 F9 by using an industrial grade hydraulic fluid, that was just a bit thicker than what it calls for. anyway, thats a cheap fix if it works out.

Air caps were popular back then and heavier oil , but emulators are the best thing .Youll have to disassemble the forks and drill out the damper rods though.
