Suzuki rs175 cylinder work on pe175 and crankcase question

I'm attempting to get a pe 175 up and running that had a broken piston which i also found to have a cracked cylinder. I have found an rs 175 cylinder on ****, it looks the same, but is it? Also, i only partially split the case and damaged some gasket while i was at it. I found a big gap at the bottom of the crankcase and filled it with silicone. It didn't look like anything was broken, but it didn't look like gasket would cover it because it would have only been supported on one side. I can't seem to attach pics here or links, but pics are on vintagedirtbikeforums under suzuki and the same title. thanks in advance
