I am on a yz250 and have loved it, but I am trying to decide between 250f and 450f. I am 43 year old and 185lbs. Average rider. Having no experience on the new 4t will a 250f haul my weight around?

The 250f will pull you just fine but it wont have neer the power of the yz250, its all in your prfrance, you might want to look into the old 400,500,600 & 650s they are a bit heaver but still the best old school thumpers plus more reliable..

what bike do you currently have? all you have listed is that you own a Kawasaki. also, where do you plan on riding? this will help everyone form a better opinion.

keep the 2 stroke. You will be spending too much money keeping a those stinkin 4 strokes running, they are always in the shop and they aren't cheap to fix. If you like your yz 250 then keep it, there is nothing better. 2 STROKES ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!

breezeair, if you can afford the operation costs then i would definatly consider a 4 stroke. The reason i like the 250Fs is the power delivery and smoothness. Some say it would be more fun to lose on a 250F then it would be to dominate on a 450F. Also, seeings how you will race in a age class or i suppose a crossover bike(250F with 300 plus big bore) would be fast fun and light. I say go for the 250F and make it a crossover. Have fun.
