sythetic oils

I have just purchased some new xr's. I was wondering what people thought of using a pure synthetic oil. I have run Castrol GTX in my street bikes. The Honda dealer wants me to use Honda oil. He told me that Sythetic oil will cause the clutch to slip. I was looking at using Mobile 1 15-50. Some help please. I am new to the dirt bike area. thanks
