. . . is that I feel better now than before I crashed! I spend an hour in the gym 4 days a week before work working on cardio as well as weights, and I am almost completely back to normal! My stamina is definitely higher than it was before, my weights are the same as pre-crash (except for single-leg workouts, my left leg is slightly behind still) and I am at the point where I can bump up my weights all the time. Of course the extra padding around my middle isn't going away, but oh well. Soon.

I spent the whole morning today doing just legs and cardio (bike/glider) and wasn't even winded. I'm soooo thrilled.

Of course, I haven't been on a bike again yet (this weekend will be the test) so I'm sure all those muscles will yell and complain and make me hurt. Oh well. I might try snowboarding again too--if I can ride, why not board as well?

Sorry, didn't mean to brag, I'm just soooo happy to be "normal" again and not half crippled.

That's why it was in quotes . . . it's a relative term. I was speaking physically, not mentally.

There's physically normal people on the boards? Big Lou's reference to "Human Cartoons" comes to mind!

Congrats on being back to "normal". Good luck on riding your bike again, and you should definitely get into snowboarding, it helps leg strength quite a bit if you go down the harder/tighter runs.

Dare to dream, I've been half crippled since 91 and still charging hard. And if you ask my family mentally crippled for even longer. It's amazing what you can get used to / tolarate.

Pain is mind over matter, If you don't mind it doesn't matter.

Glad your better.

Hah! Everyone of you is from the Simpsons. Homer, Barney,Karl & Lenny, Mr. Burns, Bart, Lisa, Crusty, Kent Brockman, Moe, Mrs. Krovaple, Nelson, Chief Wiggum, Milhouse, Ralph, Rev. Lovejoy, Sideshow Bob, Apu (not sure about that, but I'd bet there's at least one Indian here), Otto, Rod & todd, Principal Skinner, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, Smithers, Itchy & Scratchy, Grandpa, Patty & Selma. I think we could name them all here on DRN.

Glad you're feeling better. Nice that you get to go to the gym. My muscles hiding behind all my fat are jealous. ;)

Glad to hear it!

I know all about that re-hab stuff - and I still can't touch my heel to my glutes after more than a year and a half! Sounds like you made an excellent recovery, congratulations. It does feel good to have everything working and feeling normal doesn't it! :) Bike riding did the most for me, but everyone is different. Your area of the country is not exactly sunny and warm all the time so the gym is a necessity, I am sure.

Good luck and don't push it too hard!;)
