Yeah I think they must have meant no 125 for the US (like Husky did this year). Over here in the UK at the club races 125's seem to be getting more popular. At my club anyway there seems to be an even split of 125/250F's and there are new 125's being bought all the time! I dont honestly think they are dead yet!

We have about a 50/50 split of 125s (and 250s in the open class) here as well. You just can't shift the four strokes secondhand over here.

In the UK I think the noise issue is helping 2 strokes as well?

Thats very true, a lot of tracks are getting in trouble over noise concerns! The same also applies for second hand 4 strokes here, it does seem like no one really wants them?!?

The reduction in displacement in Moto GP has nothing to do with emmissions, it's all about the speeds they are seeing with the current 990cc limit.

Honda has been pushing hard for this as they have been developing an 800cc V3 for two years...

Don't forget power output of the current 990's was restricted by fuel capacity.

Yeah, guys Motorcycledaily is an American site, that is what they are referring to in saying no KX125. It is encouraging to here 125's are still in the hunt in Europe, but they are on their death bed here in the US. I've been trying to sell mine in order to get a 250 2 stroke for a while now with no luck.

And the move to the 4 stroke has nothing to do with emissions either ? It's all about emissions...Read the Kyoto treaty....

Hey if they really felt the need to decrease speeds we wouldn't have 325 MPH in the 1/4 mile dragsters.

No ifs, ands, or buts about a decreased engine capacity coming to a dealer near you.

Don't believe it ? Just check out the new craze to move to 5W30 oils reccommended in owners manuals of new cars today....It has nothing to do with protecting your motor better (countless tests show the ht/hs levels of super lightweight oils underperforming heavier weights by a large margin synthetic or not) but everything to do with being the easiest way to get increased gas mileage...The EPA is attacking it at all angles.

I guess you could always come to Canada and buy 1 :nener:

We used to buy our RZ350 production road racers in Canada when they stopped bringing the into the states. It worked out pretty well.

Canada may have great health care but what's the tax rate ?

I know that Europe has "free" health care but the tax there is outrageous.

yeah i know, I am to the point were I am so sick of taxes, insurance, bills, and restrictions on emissions from small displacement single cylinder engines that are run only on occasional weekends, that I am ready to intentionally mix my 2 stroke oil rich, strip my clothes off and ride naked off into some wilderness.

The KX125 was a great bike. Generally the underdog in the power department, but I think that just made me a better rider. Great handling, suspension, and brakes weren't as bad as the mags said.

Listen up people! This is what will happen, and it is all just common sense. You all probably know the AMA's take on the helmet law? It's reasoning is that if we let the goverment mandate that we have to wear helmets {and you should} then it will be easier to mandate the next law or rule that they see as what we need. Well, we are now letting them mandate the two-stroke out of existance for no legit reason. Yeah Yeah believe me these new high performance four-strokes are no better at passing the emmisions not including the manufacturing {more materials to make = more emissions and waste were they are made}. So now we have only four-strokes and what does the goverment do with our FOURSTROKE vehicles? Catalytic[spelling?] converters and all the emissions crap!! That also means more weight and obviously money! STICK WITH THE TWO-STROKE!!!
