Put down your Pepsi/adult beverage. Buckle-up at your PC and prepare yourself. I am getting ready to have a great big piece of "Humble Pie" (coming from a Sooner this is very, VERY difficult).
The Mad Scramble has ended. I pulled the tank, the plastic, the seat, carb, radiators, cylinder, piston, brake pedal, swing arm bolt, and removed all but ONE motor mount blot. To get the last motor mount bolt I needed to pull the flywheel cover. As I loosened the screw, I got this very sick feeling.
A month or so ago, I installed a Stealthy flywheel weight. Upon removing the other four screws, you guessed it, the flywheel was flopping around like a fish out of water. The nut had backed off and was dragging on the cover. The slack had caused the drift key to shear. A $2.00 fix! Now I'm off to get gaskets, radiator fluid, circlips, rings, and an industrial size tube of LOCK TIGHT .
Is Humble Pie best eaten warm or cold. I putting on my bib now.
