Hepler and Jesseman Injured During Testing
- press release -

MURRIETA, Calif., (January 20, 2004) – Suzuki’s Broc Hepler and Branden Jesseman were injured during testing today (Tuesday) at the factory test track.

17-year-old Broc Hepler suffered a separated shoulder where the clavicle meets the shoulder. Hepler will consult with his physician on Friday and start physical therapy early next week. Hepler’s ability to compete in the 125 East Series opener in Houston will depend on his physician’s prognosis.

Jesseman, the reigning 125 East Supercross Champion, suffered a sprained finger while testing. A visit to a nearby hospital verified that the finger was not broken. Jesseman will be ready to race in Houston on February 14th.

Tortelli ruined his knee earlier this year. He's on the sidelines for the rest of the season.

Normally I dismiss any claims of a "curse", but I'm starting to believe that may be the cause of Suzuki's chronic bad luck.

Does Hannah practice voodoo?

maybe so, but you'd think Roger D would be able to break any curse.

They were bitter rivals, though . . . Maybe Roger and Joel Robert should suit up!

Team Suzuki Rider Brian Gray Out for Remainder of AMA Supercross Season
- press release -

BREA, Calif. – (Jan. 26, 2004) – American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) today announced that Team Suzuki factory rider Brian Gray has broken his right arm and will not compete in the remaining rounds of the 2004 AMA Supercross Series.

Gray broke both of the bones between his wrist and elbow in an unfortunate get-off on the first lap of his heat race in round four of Supercross on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, in San Diego, Calif. Gray, the AMA’s 2003 Rookie of the Year for Supercross/Motocross, was campaigning the 125 West series aboard the 2004 Suzuki RM-Z250.

“The bad news is that his arm is broken,” said Suzuki Team Manager Roger DeCoster. “The good news is that it’s a clean break. Brian should be ready to race again by the time the Nationals start. He’s a tough kid and should recover pretty quickly. In the meantime, Suzuki is going to focus its 125 efforts on the upcoming East Series.”

Gray underwent surgery today and is expected to make a full recovery. He will resume racing with the onset of the 2004 AMA/Chevy Trucks 125 U.S. Motocross Championship Series in May.

Darn, I saw Brian DNF'd the heat race and DNS'd the LCQ in the results.. Too bad, he was looking good for his first year in SX, he had made all three finals before. Maybe team Zuk needs to change the color of the bikes to change their luck,,, Maybe they could go to white plastic.
