Theres something wrong whith my cusins bike

there's something wrong with my cusins bike wr250f 03. I tried to get it running yesterday and it had a really hard time starting. When I did get it started it would just die when idling, even with the choke on. Then when I tried to ride it down the street it started sputtering and just died while I was going down hill in second gear. I don't know whats wrong but I'm going to try and take it in this week to get it looked at.

Sounds like the float bowl in the carb isn't filling.

Pull the bowl off and make sure the floats move (up and down) easily. Clean, re-assemble.

Check the condition of the fuel line from the tank to the carb, some lines will look fine on the outside but swell on the inside and restrict flow.

Check the jets for debris.
