Ok, so I have a 92 kx125 that hasn't been ridden for a while and I'm in the middle of doing a top end when I run into this problem..
I take the piston to the local store to get a new one ordered, the previous owner had it bored and put a new piston in so I wanted to get the right one. After about an hour there trying to figure out what piston this is we find out that it is a wiesco from a polaris snowmobile! IN MY KX!

I order a new one of the same type, but when it comes in it's similar but a little too tall (bore is the same at 61.75). So we figure out the old one had been machined by whoever did the boring and had about .5" taken off the skirt, and shaped a little different apparently for performance.

SO what do you guys think I should do? Have this new wiesco piston machined just like the old one and put it in? Or should I just try to find a old stock 125 cylinder and start back at stock?

Thanks for the help guys, this has been driving my crazy. Sorry for the length!

I say you just get it machined and put it in. You might want get your cylinder checked for wear. I dont think that its plated since its overbored, so wear might be a problem. So just get the cylinder checked for wear at whatever shop you got the piston at.

Had the cylinder checked, and they said it was fine to reuse without any work on it. Can pretty much any machine shop do this?
