throttle cable interchangability

Are twist throttles and cables the same on all yz bikes? I have an 82 125 and i may be able to get the whole assembly from an 91. Are they compatable? The only thing that im worried about is the end that goes in the carb

I'd be surprised if they do interchange with that difference in years. The top end may be the same but the end at the needle would probably be different.

thats what i was hoping for. since i need the whole assembly i figured why not buy a newer one. its easier to find and cheaper
