Hey,

My Thumpstar wouldn't start a few months ago and i got a friend to look at it and he said that it needs a new Magneto.

Now the shop wants £60 for the part and then watever the cost to fit it (Normally £22 an hour and thats minumum what they charge), so i'm looking at £80.

I've just had a look on **** and you can get a Magneto for a Thumpstar for £30.

I just want to know how easy/hard it is to fit one of these as i would do it myself. My friends gone away for a month so its not like i can get him to fit it.

Thanks

Harder than changing a spark plug but not much more involved than properly adjusting the valves.

I just went a looked at what is being offered out on Evilbuy and only see an inner rotor kit. This is a different animal from the standard issues end of the crank setup and would require splitting the cases to install.
