I've got a problem that I'm hoping someone out there can help me with. I have a 2000 model DRZ400 that has came down with a ticking noise in the motor. I'm thinking that it might be the valves,
but not really sure. Anyone out there that's had this problem? If so, what was it? Can I fix it myself? Or should I take it to the shop? Valves have never been checked or adjusted.

It's the valves. They probably need adjusting. If you don't know how to do it, take it to someone who does.

Yup, sounds like you need to adjust the valve clearance. If it hasn't been done yet, it's probably due.
also... it's quite possible that one of the hoses coming from the flux capaciter to the framistam is ruptured.;)

Wow!! Thanks Jonesy!! I never thought of checking the flux capacitor hoses. will do that right now. Btw, what kind of screw heads are holding it on? Don't think i've ever seen that kind before. LOL

But on the serious side, thanks guy's for the input. will end up taking it to the shop. But it's gonna have to wait, workin 7 days right now so i can't ride anyway. Thanks again.
