is there a proper way to tighten the spokes or a certain tightness or torque for them? i noticed some of mt spokes were loose when i was oilin the chain and grabed the wheel to spin it a lil bit :yikes:

Tighten them with a spoke wrench, and they should all sound the same when you run the wrench along the spokes. At least that's how I learned (I am in the process right now).

A spoke torque wrench can be used to set the proper torque with the tire installed. Good spoke torque wrenches are expensive. I removed the tire and used a standard torque wrench with an Allen key adapter to do my spokes. You can do it by ear as well. I like to use the torque wrench for the initial tightening after lacing a wheel and then I just ear it every time I retorque after that.
