Tire Question

Is there any lenience when it comes to tire sizes? I have a 93 cr250 and the tire sizes I'm supposed to have are:
Front Tire 80/100-21
Rear Tire 110/100-18

When I bought the bike, it came with a paddle tire (I forget the size, I'm at school and will check later), but I'm positive it doesn't match the rear tire size. The owner used to keep a few bikes in his shed, and so I might have gotten a tire for a different bike. I'm pretty sure what the numbers mean, but can I vary any within the sizes? Thanks,

It might actually been a case of differnt ratings. If you ever look at a Michelin or some other brands they are rated differntly than say a Dunlop, as they run smaller widths(i.e. Michelin=130 is the same width as a Dunlop=110). I think I remember reading somewhere in one of the rags that most manufacturers are going to a standard formula so they will all be the same size in the near future.
