Yep. It probably doesn't look as "beefy" as you would like, but it'll grip better than the best knobby in almost all situations.

I agree on studding a worn out knobby as well.

You won't find a beefy knobby that actually does well in the nasty stuff that won't get worn out in short order on pavement. Just sayin.. The MT43 will do better in the nasty stuff, and will still last a long time and get great traction on pavement. I know it doesn't look as mean as you'd probably like, but good luck finding something that looks mean and performs half as well in the conditions you've mentioned.

I was running 110/100/18 dunlop 756 rear tire as for the trials type its one size only 4.10x18 and it is taller than any dirt tire Ive seen.

I would take JTH , Julliens and my word and try the mt43 though JTH and I run the dunlop d803 trials type I don't think the dunlop would last to long on the road IDK, I don't ride on pavement

JTH
how did the dunlop handle the trips on the road from Gilberton, Matewan and Williamson in WV. for you as far as wear??

JD
I have been considering studding just the very outer knobbies of the front tire to dig in the hard packed clay covered in slimey pig snot what do you think??, this is where I go down the most because the front slips out

This person wants/needs a tire like the Bridgestone M102 Mud/sand knobby; it's about as knarly a knobby as is made.
He also wants a cheap tire to put screws in; use the tire that is one it now.
He also wants a street tire; try any of the supermoto tires that are available.

a 100/100/18 is going to be shorter and a bit narrower and the 110/100/18 is going to be wider and taller but still fit and going to give you that "beefy look"

I have never compared the handling between the 2 sizes though

For a tire sized 110/100/18 :

110 is the width in mm
100 is the height via aspect ratio (100% of the width)

So the 110/100 is 110mm wide, and 110mm tall. 100% of 110 is obviously 110.
A 100/100 would be 100mm wide, and 100% of 100mm tall

Becoming clearer? I've always thought it sort of a silly way to represent the sizes. Apparently manufacturers do as well, since a 110/100 from two different companies will be two different sizes...
