Hi Doug, my mx360 is a great bike. The counter-balancer was disconnected when I got it so the power is insane, it has decent torque but when it hits the power band, holy cow-the power is like, on-off. I've only raced the mx360 once, last December, then I realized 4th gear was broken so I switched to a TT500 for the rest of the season. At first I thought maybe broken transmissions was a common thing, but it's not. The guy who had it before me had the motor rebuilt, unfortunately they put the bike together the messed up on the clutch, they put 8 fiber discs and 7 steel, its supposed to be 7 fiber, and 8 steel, the fiber ones are thicker than the steels so the clutch dragged, so to make up for the drag they screw the clutch adjustment all the way out when the clutch was pulled in it would shove the main shaft over, it wore through the shim on the left side of the shaft, that moved everything over and it rounded the lugs on the side of the gears. It wasn't to hard to fix. The motors are fairly easy to take the engine apart.
Overall I'd say an mx360 is a great vintage racer I've riden mine and am going to race it next season. Since your in Utah here's an mx360 for sale in Provo UT on cycletrader here's the link, I wanted to buy it but UT a ways from Port OR
