top end break in

My RM turns a year old in a few weeks so that means time for a new top end. I purchased a Wiseco ultralight yz250 piston part #808m06640. my question is how long should I break it in for I have done it a few times I just ride easy for a tank of gas usually riding for 20 min then letting the bike cool down then do it over and over giving it more throtle 1/8 1/4 1/2 ect each time but I have heard let it warm up and baby it for a little while and its fine and mxa said they ride easy for 10min and then forget about break in and the bike is fine

ive done numerous top end jobs with wiseco. all i do is 3 heat cycles in the week, just warm up the bike then let cool. take it to the track and let it warm up and then go moto flat out. on a 125, if you take it steady for a couple tanks of gas, the bike is nearly ready for a new ring anyhow!!! :)

I usually just heat cycle it once real good maybe putt around on it for the heat cycle with a load on the engine no more then say half throttle keeping the rev's down. Then the next time I take it out I warm it up good and then give it and good full on break in and then call it good maybe 30 mins of run time. The biggest thing to do make sure is you do proper warm up on those forged pistons.
