I have a 2001 RM250 that was running good up untill about 30 mins into yesterdays ride. It still starts easy, idles nice, runs good at low rpm, but will not hit the powerband. When you give it WOT and are waiting for that kick it just starts to bog out like its flooding itself. I changed the spark plug and that didnt help at all. Any Suggestions?

Yah I will check the reeds tomorrow, its raining like crazy right now so I am just trying to get some ideas of things to check out tomorrow. My first thought is still ignition though, I had a previous bike that did something similar to this, although in the end it quit starting all together.

Is the Power Valve also known as the Exhaust Valve?

I bought the manual that was supposed to come with the bike but its a bit of a pos. Are the Clymer ones any good?

Power valve could be gummed up or broke. You could have junk in the carb blocking the main jet.

If it starts easily that chances are the reeds, compression, and low speed jets are all in good order.
