top spped too slow on cr 80

hi i have a 1986 cr 80. i am using a cdi and coil and pulsar coil from a cr 60. does this affect the performance of the bike? it feels like it should rev out higher then it does. also the top speed isnt all that great. the bike also needs a re-build can that be the problem. will the top speed and revs increase with a rebuild? if so will a big bore really increace the speed and revs? Last question i promise: what is the biggest big bore kit i can get?? Thanks for everyones help You guys are great!

I don't know about the CR60 parts affecting your performance, but I'd put my money on the rebuild being the problem.

The CDI is likely your culprit. Performance can be affected by the worn top end but it sounds like it's not running anywhere near right and this is likely due to the CDI.

As far as Big Bore kits, I'm not sure on the older CR80's but I know for the current 85 I have seen 117 kit's advertised.
