Topend Procedure

hi I was just wondering if anyone could give me some helpfull tips on rebuilding my topend on my 1994 RM250.any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

before you do anything make sure your bike is CLEAN. when you are going to take out the piston make sure to put a clean rag over the hole with the rod so the clips don't fall in with the crankcase, and also check your piston for signs of scoring,blowby,etc... also check your cylinder for scratches, even fine ones. eric gorr has excellent info on how to clean and maintain your cylinder, he also has a diagnostic guide on pistons to show you what a piston should look like if a certain problem occured. good luck :)

ok ill do that......BUT how hard is the power valve to take apart b/c i use to have an 88 cr125 and that powervalve was a bitch to put back together.....any tricks to taking the power valve apart?
