transfer ports

I recently was given a 93 kx 125 cyl for cleaning of power valves and such . I noticed a name carved on the side of it and began to look closer at everything and found that this tuner drilled two holes linking the rear boost port tunnel to the rear transfer tunnels one on either side.Its kind of the way that you add boyessen ports to cyl reed type engines eg:86 yz 250 or IT200 but this is on a case reed type engine.This mod from this guy isnt just on 93 kx 125 I 've seen it on other cyldrs he's done from RM80 to CR125s.This is the only mod he did to the entire cyl other than a polished exhaust port.If this mod works could somebody expain to me how come?Most testimonials about his work have seemed to be "ohh yeah this thing rips".
