I've come to the point with my 92' rmx250 that I have to do something about moving the bars up and forward. I'm 6' 4" and I'm way to cramped with the way everything fits right now.
The stock triple clamp leans the bars back. I need the bars to sit further up and further forward.
It has a soft mount system with the stock bar clamps that uses tapered rubber grommets to hold the bar clamps to the tree.

I've looked for any after market triple clamps and haven't found a thing.
It's a long shot but I was wondering if anybody would know if any year RM triple clamp will fit.
My next option is to have a custom clamp machined. And that doesn't sound cheap.
I've also been checking the auction site since I got the bike and haven't seen anything.

I did a bunch of research and found nothing to fit my bike. I'm going to have a piece machined to get my bars right where I want them.
I'll put up some pics when I get it all together.

My son had a '90; similar problem, though he was 5'11".

Going though a box of bar perches at my dealer I found a set for a old KX would fit; no idea which year but it did move the bars forward a fraction of an inch and up, and was for fat bars - nothin like my BRP RMX top for the '97 conventionals, but an improvement, nonetheless.

Call Thumper Racing in TX to see if they have Goliath Gear mounts for Suzuki - they move the bars way up and forward for bigger fellas like you.

If you have a buddy who will make an upper 3x clamp, that's good too, or if an RM clamp will work.

I searched around for a while and couldn't find any options to move the bars up and forward on the bike. I had this piece made at a local machine shop (I used to work there).

I've got to go pick up the allen head bolts to put it all together. I hated to do it but I had a to do some clearancing with a dremel so that I can put the center nut on the stem. Oh yeah, the other pics in the of the bike are of when I first got it. It's in way better shape now.

I got the hardware and got the bars remounted. I took it for a test ride. It makes a huge differance. I felt like i was taking the bike for a ride rather than the bike taking me for a ride.
I think having the bike fit me will help my riding skills improve greatly!
Here's a pic of it all together. I'm going to take the tripple clamp off and machine the clearance for the nut when work at the machine shop slows down. I just did the rough clearancing so that I could get it back together for the time being.
