We did that before. I think we took off about 8oz, and could have gone with way more. The TTR has a MASSIVE flywheel.

8oz reduction only provided a slight change, though we COULD tell. A lightened flywheel will help the bike to rev quicker.........making bike faster in good traction conditions, but producing more wheelspin in low traction. Your riding conditions dictate which is best for you.

I turned mine down myself. Take that thick outer lip off and that will be 20-24oz. It will make it much snappier. I didn't notice any tendency for it to want to stall more than before I turned it down.
