I'm trying to get the rear wheel off my '99 TTR-250. I removed the cotter pin and axel nut, and the manual says the axel should slide out. Wrong! Me and a buddy even tried coaxing it along with a hammer and a wooden block, but it doesn't to budge. So, I removed the chain and tried to slide the whole assembly out the rear - then noticed I would have to tear the brake assembly apart. Anybody have any experience with this?
It is likely the usual suspect, lack of adequate lubrication. More coaxing with the hammer and wooden block is in order. Put some axle grease on the axle prior to re-assembly. Good luck. :)
