I don't think removing the baffle will "hurt" the bike. It does it no good though. It's louder and sounds tinny. A louder bike isn't always more powerful. Your best bet is to invest in a pipe. FMF, Pro Circuit etc... You can only adjust the forks with different spring rates, oil viscosities and oil levels. You will make a huge difference doing those adjustments from stock. Good luck :debil:
