Turbine Core II Silencer Cleaning

I've searched through the threads and found plenty of info on cleaning and packing silencers. The FMF site has a copy of the maintenance instructions for opening, cleaning and repacking the silencer part of the TCII, but has anyone drilled out the rivets on the end cap and cleaned the spark arrestor part of the TCII, or is this unecessary?

TIA

Yes I've done this and no it is not necessary. The turbine is large and doesn't plug like a screen. If the holes in your silencer are open at the exit end you are in great shape.

Yeah, I drill mine out everytime I clean and repack. Use the right size bit and all it takes out is the rivet. I don't know about the TCII but on mine (TC) it is the only way to get the old packing off the spark arrestor part or core.

BTW, I've recently discovered, for cleaning spooge, try Yamaha Combustion Chamber Cleaner. You spray it on, wait a couple mins and wipe it off, amazing stuff.
