*** IMPORTANT INFORMATION ***
There have been some issues over the past couple of years of bikes not having required equipment, and the club really needs our help on this. Otherwise it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to continue to hold an enduro in the New Paris area in the future.

The club has a great working relationship with land owners and local law enforcement, and that relationship is being threatened. Evidently bikes are showing up at tech inspection, passing, then required equipment is taken off prior to the start (and/or shared with other bikes so they in-turn can pass tech). This practice only hurts us and our opportunity to ride great singletrack in an increasingly populated area.

Bikes will be checked at tech inspection, and again at the start. If at any time during the event required equipment is missing, the rider may be disqualified. We simply can't have a few non-conforming bikes ruin it for the 150+ others that abide by the rules. The club is enforcing this not just because they want to; the alternative is a shut-down of the event.

So... Here's what you're going to need to ride some sweet single track on crisp and sunny November afternoon:

1. Valid AMA and District Card required (this will be checked!).

2. Valid Drivers / Motorcycle license required.

3. All bikes must pass a pre-race technical inspection:

- Working headlight and taillight are REQUIRED to start the race. This will be strictly ENFORCED.

- Valid license plate

- USFS Approved Spark Arrestor

- AMA Sound Test

Also note that this event will be a traditional format, and will use transponder scoring ($20 to purchase transponder card, $10 to rent).

Thanks for your understanding!

Update from Brad Knisely, Riders MC:
***************************************************************************************
Turkey Gobbler:
The A, B and C classes will ride approximately 9 miles at 12mph, will only ride 1 loop, and will NOT have to run the deep sand and whoops along the ditch.

The A, B and C’s will split off around the 7 mile mark and finish their loop.

We needed to put in a long pause (45 min.) in between loops to get everyone off the course before starting the second loop. We had some problems last year with overlapping loops going thru check points. Hopefully everyone will understand.

The remaining classes will have 2 loops, around 15 miles per loop, running at 12mph for part of the first loop then switching to 18mph for the remaining miles

D class and up will also have a new section this year.

Turkey Creek:
We will have around 60 miles this year running at 30 mph with plenty of resets. Don’t worry about the speed though because there will plenty to test you!

The club has worked hard at cutting out most of the black muck sections and will be running the super fun old ski hill again.

Don’t forget that this is a traditional timekeeping event so get your ODO’s and watches working (or relearn how to program your computer) you’ll need them.

***************************************************************************************

FYI - The staging for the Turkey Creek enduro is NOT at the industrial park this year. Both the Family Enduro and the Sunday event will be staged at the same location (landowner property).

Address: 69700 County Road 21, New Paris, IN 46553

Map: http://binged.it/TQTHbt

Please review the bike requirements for the Sunday enduro to make sure you can pass tech inspection and start the race. No flashlights, and bikes will be re-checked at the start!

- Valid AMA and District Card required
-> http://tinyurl.com/D14-Signup

- Valid Drivers / Motorcycle license required

- Working headlight and taillight (must look like a headlight; no flashlights)

This is what is needed in order to keep this land available for enduros. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

... And did I mention the weather is going to be perfect (for riding in November)?!?

Some additional clarification on the Turkey Creek Enduro...

• The club will NOT be checking for driver’s license / MC endorsement; it is the rider’s responsibility ride legally on the roads.

• The club WILL be checking for a WORKING headlight / taillight at tech inspection and the start. Please don’t try to game the system, or we risk losing this land to ride on.

• The club WILL be checking for a license plate, but will NOT require any paperwork.

• On Sunday, November 4th - Easter Daylight Time REVERTS BACK to Eastern Standard Time (fall back, gain 1 hour). Keytime is 10am, EST (rider’s meeting at 9:30am).

Thanks Scott.

... And don't forget your transponder card (credit-card style, not the sticker-type). If you don't have one, they will be available for rent or purchase.
