Hey guys and gals, just wanted to update the Dirtrider.net family. The Acadiana Dirt Riders has two members leaving today Monday the 5th for Chile to compete in the 2007 ISDE.

One of the two riders is Lucas Comeaux, those attending Dirt Week 04 probably remember him. Lucas will be riding # 501.

The other rider is Kevin Hutchinson, to say Kevin is different is an understatement. Imagine an AJ (from Service Honda) that loves to tinker with old things. Kevin normally races a 87 Husky 430 auto, that would be his "new bike". He will be piloting a "new" 99 KX 500 at the ISDE.
Kevin will be riding # 525.

We will be attempting to keep updates going as get them. This can be found @ http://www.acadianadirtriders.org/

Sweet!

Tell them to say hi to Chris Hardy with Trail Riders of Houston. He has been a support person for the ISDE for a long time.

Will do.

Some of the rest of us are leaving later this week to go lend a hand. There appears to be an overabundance of daddy pops in Chile. :)

For those that dont follow the ISDE Jeff Fredette is going for his 28th ISDE finish. The man is the iron man of ISDE, and all around good guy.

Just heard from one of the two, he has made it to Chile and is already famous. Everyone he has met has the same question " Are you really going to ride that KX500?" It sure will be a surprise when they see the results.

Aiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeee!

Motohead are you around???

What is the deal with ISDE riders and the Husky 430. I rode with a former competitor and he would almost always choose to ride his old 430 before any of his new bikes.

The ones who have the old 430 dialed in claim that it is a cheater bike, always in the right gear, runs over and through anything etc. We did cost per mile race one day and it wasnt pretty when you factor in the prep work.

Update

Kevin is out due to dehydration on day 2. The KX500 gave him a bit of trouble on day 1 but he had sorted that out and was doing ok until he hit the wall.

Lucas on the other hand is doing well, his pit stops are going well with plenty of time to impound, it must be those 4000 tire changes he did in the last two months. :)

He is on silver and 3 minutes off of gold, day 3 is supposed to be more of the terrain he is used to so it is possible he may make up some ground.

Back from ISDE

The ADR family are back home with one Silver medal. Everyone that went had a great time and have a new respect for the work that goes into the ISDE.

GO USA Kurt C. wins the E3 and the USA Woman's team wins their class.
