Did the USD fork ever come with the perimeter frame on the 200?

As far as I can tell it didn't but I just bought a 1996 200 that has an inverted fork on it. The kid a got it from didn't have a clue so I know he didn't convert it. It isn't pretty but for $700 it was a good deal since it startes second kick and has a full FMF exhaust on it (bent up but fixable)

Probably a conversion. Measure the forks and you will be able to identify them as USD from the 93-94 kdx vs a set of KX forks adapted to the kdx. Perimeter frame started in 95 which is also the year the usd forks went away. Sounds like a good deal though at 700.

The legs measure about 40 mm and the uppers are a puter/silver color with white wrap around guards. I will take a picture as soon as I get a chance. Could these be of a KX or KLX?

In the USA, USD forks never came with the perimeter frame (1995+) KDX200/220.

If the chrome, inner tubes are 41mm and the outer tubes are silver-ish, then they may be from a 1990 KX125-250-500.

Thanks for the info. If somebody loved this bike that much I wonder if he did any carb mods or porting? I can't wait to find out.

Can I put a 220 cylinder on the 200 cases without needing to clearance anything?

I believe so. I can't remember anyone posting that they had to. I am under the impression that the case half part numbers are the same. Don't forget to use the 220 head and carburetor (or a properly jetted 200 carb) when doing the swap.

I actually had a 91 kx 125 And it never had wrap around fork leg protectors. They are kinda like the honda guards.
