I have done the USD KX fork conversion on my '97 KDX200. I want to add a steering damper (maybe a GPR or Scott's) and don't know how to order. Do I need the mounting system for a KX? Someone here has probably already done this mod...let me know. Thanks!

Yes you need to specify what year KX clamp you have. The Scotts KDX mount will not work on the KX clamp.

If you go with the Scott's, get the weld on stem. Much better than the clamp on model. You will be happy with a damper.

You didn't say WER...but you did say 'maybe..'

The WER fitts the same with either fork.

I'm not recommending a WER..but it fits.

If you go to the scotts web site they have a diagram to show you how to measure for a mounting clamp for your particular application.
