I also found mine on my 01 400E to be off when I checked them the first time at about 400 miles. They seem to be settleing in, though. Only one needed adjustment the 2nd time.

I am having trouble finding a set of offset feeler guages that will measure .0004". Does anyone know where I could get some online?
Thanks

guyb,

make sure that you are asking for, four thousandths' (0.004") and not four ten thousandths' (0.0004"). It is a very common size and can be found anywhere.

Thanks guys, I actually meant .004. I am not used to working in inches:confused:
The smallest I have been able to find here in Australia only go down to .006

Thanks guys. i'll open up the covers this weekend to work on it. btw. if u guys can't get the feeler gauges in inches, those in metrics will also work. 0.10mm for the intake and 0.15 for the exhaust. both measurements taken when cold. Got it from the owner's manual.

The gauge I use is made by Motion Pro. It's got bent feeler gauges on either end of a handle. Same principle as a double ended dentist pick. It has .004 and .006. You should be able to get it anywhere that stocks Motion Pro tools.
