vintage hub -new brake lining ?

Anybody know anything about taking , for example a 74 honda cr250 hub and have the stock brake lining removed and installing a new liner that gives a whole new brake power to the drum/brake shoe bike? thanks

Why not have the old liner turned on a lathe?

i think you can get a new hub for what it would cost to modify the old one,just guessin, and there are tons of salvage yards with elsi parts
