Here is a reply I recently recieved from Ahrma regarding legal engine mods for Sportsman class machines.
">We don't care if people alter the connecting rod length of their engines.We haven't in the past (and still don't) try to regulate internal modifications to any engines, as long as the displacement remains within the class limits, and the proper engine castings, etc. are retained. And if these folks think their lap times are going to improve by using a "long rod" engine, they're really kidding themselves (they have to beat the guys who are going a lot faster because they were told a "short rod" engine is the way to go...:)
