I have been a Ween fan for a long time. I saw them play back when it was the brothers Ween and a tape player. Have you guys seen the new Honda Civic commercial with Ocean Man playing? Deaner is on the ax for the most part. Heres a good one

my dinner's on fire
while she watches TV
and if you've ever wondered
what it's like to be me
she takes all my money
and leaves me no smokes
yells at my buddies
and insults my folks
i'm breakin' my back doin' the best that i can
she's got time for the dog and none for her man
and i'm no dope
but i can't cope
so hit the f'n road and piss up a rope

late to this one but here are some of my faves.
*Bjork- want to break some wine glasses?
*The dude from System of a Down.(I honestly think that
guy could sing opera and be successful)
*Freddie Mercury-clear as glass.
*Fiona Apple
*Dave Matthews-distinctive
*Chris Cornell(late of soundgarden now, audioslave)
Allison Moyet.(Yaz) some SERIOUS pipes!
Willie - I think he has and always will have the definitive
country voice.

I also have to give a nod to Ronnie James Dio, and David Coverdale
also:
Steve Marriot (Humble Pie)
Geddy Lee
Wilson sisters
Guy who sings with Tesla (?)

Cindy Lauper??? Please. LOL I spose if you like the "screeching, whiny, I'm so from Hoboken", type voice you'd love Cindy..... Surely there is no comparing her with Madonna.

From a music friend source in Nashville. I hear tell that most everyone's voice is run though a "pitch correcting" device to correct off pitch with one exception, Reba McEntire?. personally her voice makes my skin crawl but I have to admit she is on pitch, that and more ;)

Geoff Tate of Queensryche

Martina McBride, they say if there were singers in heaven that she'd be one of em. I don't like all her stuff but she has imo good tonal qualities and I can hear emotion in her voice.

Steve Perry is good in the studio but sounds about like Sammy Hagar live :p

Bono

Conway Twitty (I never thought I'd admit it) ;)

There are too many to list so I guess I'll have to go with Jaybird :thumb:

Cindy does "True Colors". Good stuff.

Madonna is indeed deeply talented. But her talent lies in self-promotion. Acting a ho. Just like her new girlfriend Brittney (Brittney grew up right down the road from me).

By the way; whoever's idea it was to do "The Kiss" at the MTV thing should be nominated for a Nobel prize. Pure genius!

And don't call me Surely!

In all seriousness.... (cough)

I absolutely think that MTV award shows and such suck.
What's with these kids nowadays anywho?

Bunch a chumps dancin around....sheesh.

What needs to happen is a good old rock-n-roll show for a change.
A real rock show, not some wanabe rappers buffet.

Speaker kickin, mic slingin, spit flyin, Marshals abound, rock show.

What say ye?

I caught a MTV awards show a couple of years ago. The only reason I watched it was that they had Aerosmith and The Stones performing, and I figgered it would be a good show.

Aerosmith came out and did "Walk This Way" Yawn

The Stones came out and did "Satisfaction" Double Yawn.

Then something weird. Tom Petty came out and completely blew everyone away. He was stalking around the stage playing some earthy, funky, organic, high-power guitar (sort of like Mark Knoffler). I couldn't freakin' believe it!!

Tom freakin' Petty!! Upstaged the Stones!!! :aj:

Best I can tell, that was the last good MTV show ever.

Unfortunately, I think it is. :whiner:
