Was my son robbed..???

You should never restart a race under those circumstances. The hole shot, falls, and general bad luck is part of the race. If your kid has had the good luck and experience to hang behind while the leaders take each other out, his good luck, their bad luck. I have run and promoted races. The only time I red flagged races was times where serious injuries made competition unreasonable. The worse time I ever had was a bad wreck at the finish where the scorekeepers had no idea who placed where. We ran the whole race again only after asking the riders to vote. Use the last good lap as a final finish or run again.

I see it from both sides. Imagine if your son was on the rear wheel of the leader knowing he had one lap to go and still had time to make the pass, then suddenly the checkered flag appears and he gets second place. I think he would feel robbed in that situation as well knowing he should have had one more lap.

That is a good point, but the kid that took second almost always wins anyway..

Susan, I am very proud to have made your acquaintance.  Character, family, and honesty, gotta be 3 on the best traits in people that I can think of.  The fact that you guys ride dirtbikes just makes it better! :thumb:

I hope we get an opportunity to ride with you all again. I think it will be awhile before I forget how much fun we had. It had been a long time since we had a nice relaxing weekend. It was the best!!!

Steve sometimes doesn't click with people right off but I feel we all seemed to fit in with the group. It was nice to be able to ride without all the pressure of trying to beat someone.

Thanks again for a great weekend over Memorial Day.

Just curious if your son is as worried or bothered by this as you are? I'm not implying that you are losing sleep over it or anything but I am very curious if your son has given it a second thought while you obviously have?

During the week after the races, his Little League team won their league championship so it's pretty much well over and done with.

He has read everyone's posts and feels pretty special that there are several people out there that support him.

We weren't angry or upset about this issue, just disappointed. I just was wondering if there was any fair way to have resolved the issue...

Susan, just got back from my kids first boy scout camp - could not help thinking about you when the kids went fishing, and one of the kids caught the only tiddler of the day :) ... he threw the fish back ;)
