As you know the Wayne has been closed for several reasons, but there are things we can do to help . This note is from Will Shouts, who has been brought in from the West to help coordinate repairs to the trail system.

I have to point out the repairs that we can make as volunteers will not involved the damaged bridges, for many reasons that work is being contracted out to professionals. Until the bridges are repaired the Wayne will not open, but what we will be doing is taking care of other things that also need to be done. Also access will be on foot due to trail conditions,

Hope you can find some time to help out ! If we can get 300 poeple for a dual sport we should be able to rustle up 100 + to work on the trails. Also you do not have to work all 3 days , these are just the weekends available .

Here is what Will has to say :

I am on a detail here from Montana, and the Wayne has placed me in the

position of coordinating volunteer trail restoration projects during the

closure period. Your name has come up several times regarding

dissemination of the volunteer information through your organization, as

well as volunteer roles for you personally. If you would like to contact

me, then call this number, 740-753--0888, or email to this address. You can

also have potential volunteers call or email me with dates and numbers. We

would love to have you on board for the volunteer efforts. I have a few

projects in mind, and the dates are tentatively the 15, 16th, 17th, 22nd,

23rd, and 24th. We will provide lunch and beverages; the access will be on

foot, and tools will be provided. Obviously, our first criteria for

project designation involves repair to storm damage, but we will likely be

doing some user created trail rehabilitation as well. The overall

objective is to establish a recurring volunteer collaboration from this

point forth, and, although not all projects will directly relate to storm

damage, the majority of the projects will be related to long-term stability

of the trails and enhancement of the multiple use designations. I have

also left a message on your home phone. Thanks for your time, and I hope

to hear from you soon.
