Just curious. I sold my bike, have cash in hand and have narrowed the list sown to the KTM 125sx or the YZ250f. I don't like a heavy bike and am afraid to find out how heavy the 250F is.

I don't race as much as I 'piddle around' with my buddies. So winning isn't as important as fun.

Anybody know the weight? It's not on Yamaha's web site.

Thanks,
Bob

HEY STORMER
the yz250f weights approx. 225lbs with out fuel. that is a pound or two less the a 250 2 stroke, so if you have ever been on a 250 2 stroke it's about the same. i love mine, as far as starting, so down do the 30sec. routine and it will start on the frist kick!!! good luck :)

Weight of 250F has been reported at approx. 1 pound less than a 2-stroke YZ250. Approximately 227 lbs wet without fuel according to most magazine test results. That should be roughly 20lbs more than a 125 (excluding the new CR). It is approximately 20lbs less than my 426.

If you want to try a 4-stroke and you like 125-class bikes, you should not let the weight factor deter you away from the 250F.

I've got a local dealer for Yamaha, but the guy would rather golf than support or talk about bikes. =0(

If it's only 20 pounds heavier, sounds like I'm leaning toward the 250F. Thanks for the help. :)

yeah, i went from the Rm125 to the YZ250F.. You really dont notice the change of weight, especially when you are twisting the throttle on straights and hills, its a blast.....when you slow down a bit in turns, you may notice it if you like the light 125, or when you wreck on a hill... but you will get used to it.. its not that significant like this heavy beast...it's a bike of its own. I love it. Now if my ACL reconstruction would just miracuously heal and I could ride, it would be even better.....
