I have discoverd 2 hairline cracks in my FMF Gnarly pipe. They are both about 3 inches long and I suspect they are from vibration. What is the best welder to use on this type of steel? I have access to TIG, MIG, and oxy/acetalene. I am leaning towards TIG or oxy, but more towards TIG. Thanks for any suggestions.

A guy at work did mine with a tig, and the repair has lasted for several hundred miles of trail riding. TIG seems like the way to go.

TIG is going to be best since there's going to be tons of oil bubbling into the weld from inside and creating porosity. If you try a mig, you'll be putting in filler metal all the time, instead of being able to burn it out and add wire as needed. It probably won't be pretty, but can be done.
