What clutch to get?

Hi I have to replace my plates and springs in my clutch and was just wondering what type of plates to get. I was looking at the hinson and barnet ones but i was also wondering what the pros and cons are of the carbon fiber friction plates vs kevlar vs the hinson ones. Thanks

I prefer factory clutch discs.

STEEL is going to last way longer than aluminum and contaminate the oil much less. They also give a slight flywheel effect. I've used several different brands all mentioned in this thread and they all worked fine. DP with factory steel plates ae in both mine & my son's bike currently.

what bike is this?

You can get a complete TUSK clutch kit from Rockymountainmc.com for 35-60 bucks depending on the bike. Then go get new OEM clutch springs. Probably your best bet. I have used the TUSK kits in a few race bikes without any issue.

I have CRF250R and DP Clutch Kit solved my problems...holding up very nice for over 2yrs. even with Athena 280 kit installed.

Mimimize risk and problems and get stock clutch.
If you just want plates get Steel plates; is way to go.
The cheap clutches do not last long at all.

Generalized statement there.

The Tusk brands hold up fine. Again, I suggest stock clutch springs though.

Other brands may not work that well. Stock is not all that great with some brand of bikes to start with.
