I just replaced the chain on my 2004 Cr 250 r

i bought a RK Takasago XW-Ring chain

it is top of the line chain , anyways ive only riden the bike twice , i dont race it , i just pack around on it in trails and sandpits

ive noticed today that on the bottom of the chain where it enters the chain gaurd , its rubbing and causing the side of the chain to wear away

you can see where its rubbing off the rubber of the chain gaurd .

all i want to know is it a bad thing , should it be rubbing and wearing ?

it should be rubbing on the bottom of the chain, its the chain cleaner. I dont think its saposed to be rubbing from the side, perhaps your chain guide has been bent?

This is typical. The chain guide "block" isn't wide enough for the chain to run through without rubbing on the sides. Some replacement chain guide blocks are made wider to alleviate this situation.

number of links

it is normal to get some wear on the guards- thats why they are there to wear out instead of ur metal components. but if it seems like its rubbing more then ur old one make sure u have same number of links in tha chain. one link can make a big difference
