All it says is GOLD SERIES, and then on one of the mounting tabs, it says K-30. I think it may be the fatty, but I could be wrong.

I think it is a fatty. I'm pretty sure back in 96 fmf only had one kind of pipe. The one that has become the fatty. My buddies 96 banshee had the same thing....But I could be wrong.

there is no fatty for a 1996. fatty is for 1994 and older. Anything newer than a 94 is a FMF Gnarly woods, or desert pipe. I wish they would come out with a fatty and a sst for the KDX.

Ryan, I had the same question about pipes and I e-mailed FMF's tech line. They replied that the K30 is the rev pipe and the K35 is the torque pipe regardless of style (Fatty, Grnaly, etc..). So it seems you have the Fatty rev pipe. I hope this helps you.
