what handle bars too buy?

I have a 05 yz 250f. What handle bars should I buy and should i get clamps as well? what do clamps improve?

i like msr bars- and renthall-, and tusk-
but you get what you pay for on these parts---- 1 fall and junk bars will bend
i personally don't like pro taper- or tag- -- i just don't like not having a center bar

I have Pro Taper Contour bars on my 125 and Renthal Fat bars on my 450.. I like them both. Not sure which are better though.

if money wasn't a prob- id go with renthall- no doubt
but i have tusk,and msr- on 2 bikes i have now-
also- renall are not indestructible- they bend too- i junked a few pair- so its up to you

The most important thing for me is the bend!

Of course you do get what you pay for, I have always been a fan of renthal as far as quality.
Unless you are going to an oversized fat bar or want a different offset I don't see any reason to change your clamps

I had Renthal Fatbars on my 99 CR250 and bent them. They seemed like they carried vibration bad (I was using Pro Taper Honda style oversize bar mounts-rubber isolated). They got bent so I borrowed some 7/8" regular Rentals (like the ones that Hondas come with) and the vib went away. I eventually bought somemore Fatbars and the vib came back. I had the 7/8" Renthals on my Honda when it was new, (I did like the way these felt and held up), but I switched to Pro Taper Contours when I got my stabilizer. I like the Contour bar (CR High Bend). They are rugged and seem to have held up well and are comfortable (bend). They don't carry much vibration (the bike also doesn't vibrate like the CR did).

Pro taper makes a strong bar, I've broke the Renthal Fats in a hard crash, yes the clamps were chamfered. Currently I'm running Tag XT1 on the AF and T2 on the RMZ. I like both in the SX bend. It's similar to the 971 Renthal bend. This bend works well for tall riders, there's less sweep making the bar a bit straighter and level across the top.

Triple clamps will offer adjustably over stock with better clamping force and lighter weight. They're not cheap and money is better spent in other places unless you need to move your bars forward for more space.

I enjoy the renthal fat bars the best. I like the bend, it fits me perfectly and i have yet to break them. Find a bend you like and use it. bending bars is part of the sport so you should get the chaance to try several different bends. If your not crashing your not riding hard enough. ha

I LIKE FLEXX BARS WHEN I'M RIDING IN THE WOODS OR ROUGH STUFF THATS WHAT I WOULD GO WITH, BUT FOR THE MX TRACK I USE RENTHAL FATBARS :cool:

Rockymountainatvmc.com has some "longhorn" bars that are very inexpensive, but I have been extremely happy with those bars. I bought them originally as a backup to keep with the spare parts bin just in case of a bad bar day, and I've been just as happy with those as any of my Moose/protapers/renthals. They are made out of the same exact aluminum grade as all of the others (7075 T-6 aluminum.) To be honest, I was really surprised with how well these bars were made and they have held up to a good amount of hits just as well as any of the other bars I've owned.
