What should I pay for a new Ktm-2002 200 MXC or new KTM 2002 EXC. Dealer want 4400+ frieght and prep - 300 more on the MXC so thats 4700.00 plus tax. $4600 for the EXC at another dealer.
I'm thinking they should be under 4000 and no freight or prep. What do you guy's think ?

You could check Cycle Trader to see what new '02 KTM's are going for, I see them in there all the time. It will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect to pay. Also, if you don't want the added cost of shipping, you should call your local dealers and see if they have any in stock.

Mattocycle in PA is selling 04 200exc for $4599
Champion cycle in louisiana had a 03 for $ 4299
I got these prices on ktm talk in the dealer section. Dont know if they still have these bikes but gives you an idea of what you should pay.

4000 wouldn't be a "bad" price for a new '02,but you have to remember it will be a 3 yr old model the second you roll it off the floor.Thats just something to consider if you decide to sell it later.

The "big auction site" has a new '04 200 with a minimum bid of 3999 on it,and NO RESERVE.

Thats something to think about. I think I'm going to try and get a 2004. Its not that much more for two year newer bike and your right about the resale value.
