I bought an '89 YZ250 from a buddy for cheap and it has a bent connecting rod. So... I am going to have the motor apart and I though while I have it apart.. what can I do to it to make it sick ? I bought a new connecting rod, a complete gasket set, and new crank bearings and seals. What can I do to it while it is apart to get some added power out of it ? Thanks.

It might be in your best interest to obtain a good source for information/specifications on your bike, wheather it be a service manual or what have you, and then proceed to blueprint the engine and take the manufacturer's tolerances out of equation. Gasket match intake, exhaust, and transfer (both case and cylinder) ports. Ensure that your cylinder ports are dimensionally the same (heigh/width/shape). Look for ways to reduce friction by smoothing/polishing. Most of this will just cost you time. If you're unsure about doing something, then stop and ask before you do it. Good luck.
