Is that number in the image on the steering stem?
The VIN should be 17 digits.

In any case, I'd say it's 89-ish. Somewhere between 89-94.
Hi, Yes this is the only Number I can see on the steering stem ( right side) should there be another number somewhere else ? ( Apologies for the silly Q, :)

So, we can assume there is no VIN plate attached to the frame somewhere? Looks like this:

VIN-code-2[1].gif

If not, it's likely not a North American market import.

Using just the frame number, the best way to be sure is to call a Suzuki dealer and have them look it up (the frame number and engine number), they'll be able to give you all the info you need. Ie; what year is it, and if the correct engine in it.

Hi Again, Thanks for the update.. It certainly isnt a US import ( I Hope) , I am 99.99% sure it was a UK import, although I recently transported it to Sweden. Where would that plate be ? Where would I find the engine Nr ? Thanks again :)

I remember the 89-90 rm's having blue frames, the 91-92 rm's had yellow frames, and funky spotted seats. I think 93 had a dark grey frame, then Roger D took over and made the rm's faster and slicker.:$
