Whats the definition of works suspension??

I know most people on this site have seen factory bikes up close and heard from factory riders that the single most important part on there bikes are their suspension, but I want to hear from the experts here what makes there suspension so much different then ours. Is it the internals, the coatings, the fluids, the valving, etc??? Maybe someone can chime in who has the works showa kit and tell us his/her opinions or who has seen kayaba/showa/wp works suspension up close and personal.

I thought the works showas were just recoated originals but i read somewhere they havea different rod and piston size-im not sure this makes them better-they tend to run loose seals etc for less stiction.
