whats the problem?

My 1998 RM 250 wont go into gear. the last time i rode it it was hard to get the clutch to catch. i've had a few people tell me that the problem is the clutch basket. can anyone help me out???

If you can put it in gear while the engine is off more than likely it's your clutch .

What do you mean "catch"? What is this bike doing? More info please

ok..really sorry for not enough info. when the bike is off then clutch will not engage and i cant change gears. so i cant start the bike. the gear shift acts like it sticks when i try to get it into neutral. now that is all the info. i have.

I at a loss.

Maybe a broken shift actuator spring? Worn shift drum or fork?
